Will Factorio run on Switch 2

Will it run on day one (June 5th) and will there be a update to Factorio Space Age.

Will there be any performance patches for free as well ?

I will be looking into bringing both base-game and Space Age to Nintendo Switch 2. For base game I will try to make sure it takes advantage of the better hardware in backward compatibility mode, if possible.

This is not a confirmation, it's still very early days. I'm just letting you know it's something I want to work on.

I also noticed that when I checked the Nintendo site a week ago. I wonder what is taking so long maybe after June 5th

Factorio will be great for the bigger screen and the mouse controls of the new Switch 2. I can't wait to see it in action with a cool update.

Out of curiosity, do you want to run it on the Switch just to see if it can be done? If you want to play it seriously, how in the heck could you see anything on that tiny screen? I specifically play Factorio on the biggest monitor I can fit on my desk.

Didn't the developers put out a post that said Space Age will not be coming to the Switch due to lack of VRAM? It's the same with the Switch 2. While Factorio 1.1 can be ran fine on the Switch, Space Age has a ton of new textures and sprite sheets which demand a ton of resource, something the Switch 2 does not have. As opposed to one planet, the console will need to constantly render five different planets and keep up with the resource demands.

Space age runs on 1GB of VRAM. The switch 2s 12GB of memory will not hinder it running the expansion.

I run Factorio on a 24 inch screen while docked. The screen is not that small when compared to Factorio on the Steam deck.
