I tried upload ~100M recording for the bug report; the description states files up to 1G are allowed

It's actually considerably lower than 1GB; I know it's documented somewhere, but that description really ought to be changed. You are not the first person it has confused.

Earlier, it was 40M, but I successfully uploaded way larger files (100M was not an issue)

I have fixed the clipboardimage.js crash and I fixed the display of file upload progress and failed/success status. I will be looking into why large uploads are failing, next.

on the stickied rule post (viewtopic.php?t=53086 ) , under the first collapsable spoiler it says :
Only attach files up to a size of 30MB, upload bigger files to Google Drive or Dropbox instead and post a public link.
However, when clicking the attachment button, it shows :
If you wish to attach one or more files enter the details below. You may also attach files by dragging and dropping them in the message box.
Maximum filesize per attachment: 1 GiB.
If you have attempted to upload file that are way larger than 100 M you are not abiding by the rules !

Although maybe it's not a strictly enforced rules, more like an older indication that would need to be updated if the "large uploads" do not fail :)

That is not a technical limit, we just did not want people to upload bigger files as the download from the forum was slow and unreliable and we reached the storage limit all the time.

File uploads up to one GiB should be fixed. Please don't abuse the available space for random things, but you are very welcome to use it for save files and mod related content.

I only used larger file uploads for savefiles and/or recordings for my bug reports, and always tried to use the most lightweight file possible in the given conditions. Just some bugs have with unkown steps-to-reproduce require 60M+ Space Age savefile. And for the recordings... sometimes compression algorythms do not compress that much -- maybe I need to change OBS settings.

I'm no expert, and there's so many video format to choose from, and many parameters on which to play to try and increase compression that i found it easier if you don't have a workflow established already to just make the video in the quality you like for yourself and then send it to an online compressor like : https://www.freeconvert.com/video-compressor
"they know when they see your video and they automated the process" is how i feel everytime, you can ask for 1/10th of original file size as target size or even lower.

Just beware with the 'new' H265, keep the default H264 as it compress mp4 in a way that they can be displayed by the forum. I recommend not messing with settings for reasons x).

In a good way, in a bad way, on in a not-personal way?

Not sure what you ask x)

i meant that feel like professionnals, i don't know what's happening behind the doors, but i imagine every known tricks that i could test they know it and why it works and when to use or not it for best effect, they must have countless video uploaded to them and feedback to make it "what user generally want from what user generally have", i'm not sure i could list all the changes that are made between my input and the ouput when i use those and it's probably bad for privacy because they obtained such expertise most likely by looking at the videos that are sent to them, and probably keep copy somewhere, like true profesionnals x), i suppose they first analyze the video and then apply a mix of things to try and be competitive versus other "free converter" that would only apply "less recent model" / "mix of technique", i think sometimes it could be the same algo than i could have on my software, but the preset and settings like number of pass and ratio of diffusion and size or type of pixel or those are automatically choosen better than i could do myself, and it's super quick.

Settings -> output -> recording -> video bitrate
