Do I have the Space Age?
Do I have the Space Age?
This is what says it. I am confus. My research tree says NOT space age. I bought the Space Age right now. What is going on?
Re: Do I have the Space Age?
Can we have "space age" badge for the ones who bought it? It's weird right now.
Re: Do I have the Space Age?
Buying the game doesn't imply it will automatically import itself into your computer. Game require downloading and then installing.
If you want to end this mild embarassment, just familiarize yourself with the game interface more. Just launch the game and check the menus. Will you be able to determine your exact game version in no time.

Are you sure you downloaded it? Did you enable the mods in the Mods menu?techi wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 7:58 am This is what says it. I am confus. My research tree says NOT space age. I bought the Space Age right now. What is going on?
That's not a very nice thing to say

Yeah it's easy to forget that not everyone has spent so many hours in Factorio, like most people on these forums. But they still exist, and we were all also new at some point, and might've had questions like this.lpioruns wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 9:32 amMy apologiesI didn't mean to offend β just surprised to see such basic questions like: "how to install a game I just purchased?" on the official forum.

Re: Do I have the Space Age?
Actually, installing a bought game (or a DLC like Factorio: Space Age) isn't a Factorio-exclusive experience. To install a game, you simply follow the same practices you've always used, like downloading and double-clicking the .exe, or clicking through a wizard in the Steam client. Hence my initial surprise.Stringweasel wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 9:49 amYeah it's easy to forget that not everyone has spent so many hours in Factorio, like most people on these forums. I am surprised that I had to ask this question as well.pioruns wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 9:32 amMy apologiesI didn't mean to offend β just surprised to see such basic questions like: "how to install a game I just purchased?" on the official forum.
I naively expected that when I buy a Steam-integrated game, it should appear in my Steam library.
I bought the Space Age on Factorio website, except it turned out that I was redirected to and actually bought it from Humble Bundle. Alright. After some poking around I realized that Factorio website doesn't know that I now own Space Age, so I went to Humble Bundle, found the game key there, found where to input it on the Factorio website (it's nontrivial, try to find it yourself), yay. Then all I had to do was to tell the Factorio website to email me Steam keys (for the third time today) and now look and behold, there were *two* steam keys in the email, so I manually activated the second key in the Steam client and am now downloading Space Age! Great success, very 2025! I am slightly embarrassed, but not for myself.

Space Age is treated as DLC and not a standalone game.techi wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 2:03 pm I naively expected that when I buy a Steam-integrated game, it should appear in my Steam library.
Re: Do I have the Space Age?
Good to hear problem is resolved. I thought you bought it directly, not through Humble Bundle. Anyway, well done! To my understanding, you can play the game directly without Steam, if you wish. That's what I did: I bought Factorio on GOG (but not liking GOG client, so not using it), and Space Age on Factorio website directly (I don't remember if I was redirected to Humble Bundle or not). Hence, I am using native Linux client directly without any shop or store.techi wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 2:03 pmI am surprised that I had to ask this question as well.pioruns wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 9:32 amMy apologiesI didn't mean to offend β just surprised to see such basic questions like: "how to install a game I just purchased?" on the official forum.
