mac OS update when app in iCloud drive fails

I install the factorio application in the Application folder of the shared iCloud drive (due to some corporate policy).

When I attempt to upgrade, the full upgrade downloads, but there is a permission issue at the very end of the process. And the upgrade just fails.
This is a minor inconvenience as now, I am used to download the full game every time I want to upgrade. But I think it would be nice for you to be aware. Perhaps this is something that is trivial to fix. I really have no idea.
