Has anyone tried Factorio on Switch 2 yet ?
Just curious to know if anyone tried Factorio on there new Switch 2 yet.
Re: Has anyone tried Factorio on Switch 2 yet ?
Hi, made an account just for this, lol.
I have tried it for literally few minutes just for curiosity. It is the same version with faster loading times and overall better performance, but that is true for Switch 2 back compat as a whole. I was hoping for the MouseCon to trick the game to think a usb mouse was connected, unfortunately no such luck. We need to wait for an official update.

Odd, colleague mentioned that it didn't work for him.

There might be some quirks that cause crashes, I cannot be sure as I literally just jumped in to see if the mouse mode works.

Oh cool so the same as Switch 1 in docked mode I can use my Logitech unifying receiver to connect both my Logitech mouse and keyboard on one USB port.Slxma wrote: Sat Jun 07, 2025 12:18 am It worked perfect for me and I tried using a mouse and keyboard at it worked perfect

Compared to on Switch 1, Factorio runs significantly better on Switch 2.
I have a world that had turned into a slideshow—approaching ‘mega’ size, overuse of bots, huge bitter waves, etc. That world runs perfectly now. No performance issues I can see at all now. It’s a huge improvement over Switch 1.
While I still hope we can get Space Age, a resolution bump, and Joy-Con 2 mouse control support in the future, at least we get a nice performance increase now. And that’s through a translation layer. In theory the game could run even better running native on the system.

On big maps do you get any memory errors or messages saying the game has to quit because out of memory ? or does the game use all 12 gb of system ram now ?Dylan J. McGrann wrote: Sat Jun 07, 2025 4:43 pm Compared to on Switch 1, Factorio runs significantly better on Switch 2.
