[2.0.55] Crash loading save "Wrong direction of FourDirectionPointers."

Place for things which are bugs but we have no idea how to solve them. Things related to hardware, libraries, strange setups, etc.

[2.0.55] Crash loading save "Wrong direction of FourDirectionPointers."

Post by Pootine »

When the starts up, I hit "Continue" to load the last saved game. The when the loading progress bar gets to the end, the game crashes. This also happens if I try to load the autosaved games. The crash occurs every single time.

I can't seem to attach the saved file to this bug reports as I keep getting the error "Error parsing server response.". So I've uploaded it to Google Drive:

I looked at your save file and it has a single bit flipped on the direction variable of a transport belt. The only way this has ever happened in the past has been memory corruption due to failing hardware - that is - unless you know of a way to take a known good save file and get it into this broken state. If you do, please let us know.

I've fixed the save and it's attached however you'll want to identify and replace what ever piece of hardware is failing (likely RAM) otherwise this will simply happen again. If it does happen again I won't be looking into it/trying to fix it a second time.

Thank you so much for fixing the saved file. I'll run some diagnostics on my machine to figure out what's wrong. Really appreciate the help.
