[2.0.55] Signal problem on save reloading (i guess) -> destination planet not updated

Post by svonfelten »

Hello, fisrt of all thank you for yourt amazing game i love, especially the new update !

So the main problem is that i want to check if if a ship should move or not to enable/disable pumps. For this i check that all planets signal are != from 3 as destination is 2 and current is 1 so if they are different the ship should move, but sometimes the ships are stuck ( i would say this happens when i load the game as i don't have the problem when playing long times) this happens beacause for example the ship is on fulgora orbit and goes to nauvis but the signal is 3 fulgora. i will attach my save file in google drive/attachment, you can check the "fulgora science transporter" is in this current state.

I am trying to understand this bug report but i am not seeing anything wrong.

From the specification i was given when adding the "read moving from" and "read moving to", those signals are not supposed to show the overall intentions of the space platform but to show where it currently is. When a space platform is at the space location then you get the specific signal with a value of 3. In the provided save file, a "fulgora science transporter" wants to leave fulgora but has no fuel in the thrusters and as such it is stuck at fulgora, and because it is stuck at fulgora it sends fulgora space location signal with a value of 3 which by the decider combinator logic makes the fire signal to not be sent which causes thrusters to be cut from fuel.

It is possible your space platform in some cases is not stuck because there are some remaining amounts of fuel left in the pipes going to the thrusters, but if they happen to be at 0 the contraption just breaks.

I will note this report as example of confusion around meaning of "read moving to", but i will also move it to Not a bug because based on current expected behavior of those signals, everything works correctly and platform is stuck due to player creations.

I'm having the same problem. Thought it was a bug, but as you describe it, i may be not. However, it should switch the target signal based on the schedule, not if it's currently heading that way?
