TL;DR
Allow to regulate the production rate of the Agricultural Tower. What?
The Agricultural Tower could have an option to regulate the harvesting rate. The simplest solution would be an option to force the tower to harvest plants in even intervals, depending on the number of growing plants.
We could also get an option to set a specific harvest rate, but I do not know if that is a great idea.
Why?
Currently, the Agricultural Tower harvests plants as fast as it can, depending on available space in its storage and fully grown plants. This means it will harvest them at a variable rate - in the best cases it will be small variations repeated every about 5 minutes, but it can also easily produce a huge amount of resources in short bursts (especially if it's a newly placed tower; over time they tend to self-regulate somewhat though not even close to a consistent rate). This can be extremely harmful to a factory designed for constant throughput to optimize freshness.Adding a form of regulation in the Agricultural Tower itself would be a nice QoL feature to replace circuits (like clocks connected to belts or inserters) or other setups for managing the output of the Agricultural Towers, most of which require at least some buffering and consequently produce waste and reduce the freshness of the final products, or have some other forms of inefficiency. They also require additional front-loaded effort from the engineer, which is already plenty thanks to everything else related to freshness.
