Bugs that are actually features.

[2.0.69] Copied combinator has same settings instance - changing one, changes the other

Post by divisor »

I don't know how I did it, but yesterday I copied a constant combinator and every time I change the settings of one, the other mirrors it.

Probably related to this is a different weird behaviour. Every time I load the game, the settings of these two combinators are reset to contain only nutrients, even though the game was saved with nutrients and bioflux.

First part of the description sounds like you configured a name in the section with constants. Named sections are synchronized between all instances of that name present in all entities in the game and this is intentional feature and you can read about it in https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-382.

Second part sounds like a desync and i will need a save file to verify if the issue is really there.

You're right. Months ago I used the text as description and did not realize the groups are global. The copied combinator had a named group.

The second issue is also gone now - I believe, I got confused and loaded a different game than intended. Thanks for your response.
