Post disapproved: "Version 2.0.72"

Post by strapienie_cieknacy »

Hello!

My post was disapproved, and I understand that I posted it in the wrong place.

(Reason: The reported message is off topic. Open a technical help topic instead..)

How can I move it to the correct place, or copy its content to create a new one? I don't know how to access it.

How can I find the content of my post?

Was my post disapproved, or was it disapproved and deleted?

I spent a lot of time polishing that post and applying lots of BB Code to make it easy to read. Is it all gone now? I understand that I made a mistake, but I don't understand why the punishment is so severe. It just makes me sad. I really wanted my first post to be polished and well written. I hope there's still a backup of it.

We have phpBB cofigured to keep the contents of deleted posts, so I have checked the database. Unfortunately, it looks like phpBB treats disapproved posts differently from deleted ones, and voids them completely. (ref)

So this is something to note for moderators in the future. We may want to create a hidden thread for "non-trivial disapproved posts" where they could be moved.

Thank you for checking and for the detailed explanation.

It's good to know this isn't just an oversight but a phpBB behavior.

I think your idea of a hidden thread for non-trivial disapproved posts would really help.

It would make it easier for users to recover their work if they made a simple mistake, like posting in the wrong section.

Thank you for checking and for the explanation. I'll recreate my post tomorrow, so no worries.

I really appreciate your time looking into this. Have a great weekend!

For situations like this, I recommend using the TextAreaCache extension for Firefox or Chrome. It automatically saves everything you type into text fields, allowing you to recover lost posts later, even couple of days later, directly from the cache.

I was experiencing strange mouse cursor behavior, and the Esc key stopped working after opening the AMD Adrenalin overlay. It started happening after updating to the latest game version (2.0.72), but I think my graphics driver was also automatically updated around the same time (25.10.2).

Then today the game also started stuttering badly, so I decided to do a clean graphics driver reinstall and wipe all the shader caches.

Now the game runs perfectly, so the issue is resolved and there's no need to recreate my post in the Technical Help board. Thank you again for your time.

By the way, I recommend enabling AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.1 in the Adrenalin control panel. With that enabled, the game runs at 120 FPS and I don't notice any lag.

And thank you Pioruns for the TextAreaCache extension suggestion, that sounds really useful.
