Re: How do I remove my mod from the mod portal?
Just delete it
Re: How do I remove my mod from the mod portal?
But there is no option to delete a zip from mod protal if it is the only one remaining.
Re: How do I remove my mod from the mod portal?
there isnt an option.Klonan wrote:Just delete it
asked it before. as well as to rerename my mods.
Re: How do I remove my mod from the mod portal?
Maybe upload only a zip file with info.json and without other code and delete the previous mod file as workaround.
Re: How do I remove my mod from the mod portal?
Ok i will delete it, and also look at improvements in these areas
Re: How do I remove my mod from the mod portal?
It's still not possible to delete mods.
It's only allowed to delete older versions.
So i'am forced to make a empty or old .json + *.zip and delete the other zips or what ?
I had this problem also last year for a season-mod ... i wanted to removed it after the event-time.
I deleted the current versions and hope nobody use the 0.13 versions or fork them.
I want remove:
- Yuoki Industries - Profit from War (obsolete)
- YI - Helloween 2016 (Helloween 2016 is clearly over)
It's only allowed to delete older versions.

I still use the Halloween mod because I like the lamps.

You should not remove Factorio mod content simply because "it's not the season for it"...

If he created the mod, he can do whatever he wants with it.Supercheese wrote:You should not remove Factorio mod content simply because "it's not the season for it"...

I know, I'm just exhorting him to be less restrictive.mophydeen wrote:If he created the mod, he can do whatever he wants with it.

Haha,
It would be much better if you didn't delete it, but instead just uploaded an "empty" mod. Then next year, re-enable it. With mod auto-updates enabled you could have the halloween stuff just appear for 3-4 days

Or make a season mod which can be changed as much as the author like and the users don't have to install a new mod every season.

This doesn't belong in this thread or forum section, this thread is about removing mods from the mod portal website.Decord wrote:I just installed a bunch of mods via the in game mod library, and now I cant get in the game. one of the mods I installed is "nil" and I cant remove it since its from the in game mod library and not a manual install how do I by pass or remove the bad mad? Mods that you downloaded from the in-game mod browser are saved in the same location as manually installed mods, the %appdata%\Factorio\mods folder. Delete the complete mods folder and see if that helps. If you still can't start your game then make a new thread in Technical Help and include your log file.

The ability to delete his own mod should be a thing specially if like me you are a moron and upload a mod before thinking twice about the name. But also about the right to delete thing you post on internet. Also we already have the ability to delete specific version of a mod so delete a mod shouldn't be new.

Good Luck!By uploading a mod to the mod portal, you grant us the irrevocable right to reproduce, adapt and distribute the mod and its content as necessary to operate the mod portal and provide the service to our users.

I'm not sure RGPD agree with that also this contradict a lot of license such as GPL that is build-in license in portal mod, and remember that a illegal term of service have no value in justice, the law > any contract. We don't live in USA, you can write thing in a contract but that need to be legal to matereugenekay wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 7:09 pmAccording to the Terms of Service:Stargateur wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 6:29 pmBut also about the right to delete thing you post on internet.Good Luck!By uploading a mod to the mod portal, you grant us the irrevocable right to reproduce, adapt and distribute the mod and its content as necessary to operate the mod portal and provide the service to our users.

The General Data Protection Regulation generally deals with personal data, such as your Username or email address. The contents of a Mod would not be considered personal data; rather it is User Created Content (which is derived from the Factorio API itself) that you are implicitly granting a License to be permanently re-distributed, as stated in the Terms of Service.Stargateur wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 4:00 amI'm not sure RGPD agree with that also this contradict a lot of licence such as GPL that is build-in license in portal mod, and remember that a illegal term of service have no value in justice, the law > any contract. As mentioned previously, you can create an “empty version” of your mod and publish that, then delete previous versions. If you want to delete your account entirely there is a button for that on the Profile Page. Or contact the Support via email - they appear to be responsive to data deletion requests, as offered above. This all appears to be very compliant with the relevant laws.

That exactly my first message it's already possible and I for my personal case don't want to squat a mod name for nothing. If such method exist why do you argue with me for nothing ? I just don't want to annoy a staff member for such small thing, it's should be build-in at this point.eugenekay wrote: Sat Dec 20, 2025 4:16 am As mentioned previously, you can create an “empty version” of your mod and publish that, then delete previous versions.
