[2.0.73] Crash at random only on Windows laptop

Hello there, I've been having an issue with random crashing on a modded save. I've tried to eliminate as many causes as I can but I'm stumped so here I am.


Ok this only happens on my laptop (14900hx - 4080) with Windows installed, it doesn't do it when I boot into Linux on the same machine.

It doesn't do it on my desktop (14900K - 5090) on either Windows or Linux.


I was starting to think as my laptop has a 14900hx it may have been affected by the issues they were having, but as it works fine in Linux, hopefully not.

AI is telling me its something to do with an overlay, but I've learned they aren't to be trusted.

If someone could have a little look at my log, It would be much appreciated.

It's crashing in the graphics driver when trying to draw some part of the game. Did you mean to force it to run with OpenGL instead of directX?

Hi Rseding,

I did, it was one of the things AI suggested as it wasn't crashing in Linux and that uses OpenGL if I understand correctly?.

Have you tried updating your drivers? It looks like you have 556.08 (August 2025) and going by nvidia drivers website, your card should have 595.79 .
