[2.0.42] Space Platform Zero Request Ignores Import From Filter

Post by thisisbbc »

What did you do?

On a space platform, I set a request with a maximum quantity of zero to offload when a certain item has been created. This request uses the 'Import From' with a specific planet. The desired behavior is that when the space platform is above the set planet, the set items will be dropped to the specific planet.

Note that typically, if I want an item to be delivered on a planet I will make that request from the cargo landing pad, but here I want to make sure the items are dropped regardless of the quantity available on the planet so that the space platform always has some free space. I can't set a request with a very high number on the cargo landing pad as it would interfere with other space platforms. I only want this specific space platform to keep dropping stuff on a specific planet.

What happened?

The items set with a zero request are dropped on any planet everytime, regardless of the 'Import From' setting. For example, below we can see the space platform is moving from Aquilo to Fulgora, yet the platform wants to drop the items with a zero request that are configured on Vulcanus and Gleba.

Also, attached below are the requests from the cargo landing pad on Fulgora, where we can see that none of the items dropped are requested.

What did you expect to happen instead?

I would expect that this filter will only be active on the specified planet, as per the tooltip info.

In other words, any items with a zero max threshold should drop on the planet the filter is configured for.

Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?

This always happen. Whenever the space platform leaves a planet, the orbital drop slots are immediately filled as items are created, regardless of the destination planet.

Thanks for the report. Looking into the logic this seems intended. The auto-trash logic was never designed to function as you're trying to use it.

You can simply drop items overboard (or Recycle them with Quality modules) to reduce the amount of Cargo being carried, even if there are no Landing Pads waiting to catch them.

Good Luck!
