I made a grid of captive biter spawners and let them run out of food to create an array of aggressive Biter spawners around my base to use the spawns of medium, large and behemoth biters with respective pollution values of 20, 80, 400 per spawn as pollution spunges, killing off all the biters that spawn with turrets and letting the spawners live and keep spawning biters for pollution absorption purposes. I left the game running and when i came back the absorbtion values of my biter spawners had gone from 50k/min to effectively 0, while the kills/minute has remained the same. (no other combat on the map)
So absorption consuming biters are spawning without consuming the pollution they are supposed to.
Link to google drive with 2 saves, first (522) shortly after spawners have been released, absorbing lots of pollution and second save (523) about 10h later absorbing next to 0, while game was left afk so nothing has been done in the game to change anything.

Thanks for the report however this is working correctly. The spawners are functioning identically to natural spawned ones.
You're simply not understanding how pollution interacts with them. They only absorb pollution to *send biters to attack*. They don't absorb pollution to spawn biters. The tooltip states so:
