[2.0.69] Blueprint parametrisation gui doesnt show *aviliable variables* info

Post by MrGergoth »

What did you do?
I'm trying to remember how to see parametrisation variables, but I don't see any pop-up window. I go to internet and look for screenshots, and in every screenshot I see a pop-up window, but I don't have one. By randomly clickin within 3 min and re-makin blueprint, i discover that parameter order is matter:

No pop-up

Pop-up

What did you expect to happen instead? It might be obvious to you, but do it anyway!
I expected pop-up windows will be always visible no matter what order in parameters.

Well, what should it show in the tooltip?

Because for the first parameter the available previous parameters to be used in the formula are ... NONE. Did you expect "Available variables: None"?

On the other hand the tooltip text doesn't seem to be custom tailored to the available parameters, for example the ingredient count seems to always go from 1 to the maximum number of ingredients possible anywhere.

Sir, i undestand what you mean, but its not shown in any cases because this info show just as example. Tooltip doesnt show me *p0_i1* if i have parametr 0 - it still contains *example* info *pN_i1* that not based on any parameter anyway.
For a second, this window is a fully completed, i mean there is no any *step 1: set parameters, step 2: set formula* - its a single window, so why order should matter here while player set everything and save it once? Alternative - item params should be always at top to keep pop-up always visible. Blueprint on this pic made with different order, i mean, in my case, I CANT SEE pup-up at all because its made with such order *formula -> param* and - if, for example, i am new in game and testing this first time - with such blueprint ILL NEVER FIND that here are pop-up window that show info *how to make formula* because its just was made with this order.
Its not a *player did something wrong*, its *blueprint that made has order 1 over order 2, as result - player cant see pop-up window*. Do i get different result with another blueprint? Why *parameter* at top and *formula* is lower? No clue. Player just make blueprint and he got it. But because happend this order but not another one, player cant see pop-up. As i said, i found this just because i tried ordering things because i was sure *here should be pop-up info, where it is?* because i know its exist, but new player may not get this - not because he did something wrong, just because blueprint that he made has this order, but not other.

It is indeed a bit awkward to use. The initial order of items is less than optimal too.
