[2.0.69] Adding, Updating, Deleting Mods causes a desync or Migration issue

Post by Zacosham »

So, me and the spouse have a world that we've spent months working on. We've found ourselves in a bit of a weird spot, we have a handful of mods installed... which the game runs fine. However, if I add anymore mods, take away any mods, or update any of our existing mods we immediately get desync's the moment both of us are in the game. Usually what triggers the desync is everything is fine for 8 to 10 seconds but if one of us checks the map, it causes it to immediately happen.

The frustrating part, is if I roll every mod back to exactly the original our game/save becomes playable again. I dont know where to even start trying to figure this out. I tried understanding a few desync guides, but since we are able to play as long as we change nothing I didn't know if I should try posting in the desync with mod area or not.

Would really love some help, just not sure what to do next.

What did you do?
Any changes to our mods at all add/sub/delete then play together

What Happened?
Within 8 to 10 seconds we crash one the 2nd player joins the server

What did you expect to happen?
We've been able to play 100s of hours without issue as long as we do not change our mods. The second we do anything, we start desync'ing until we revert all the mods

Does it always happen?
We can reproduce it over and over once the 2nd player hits the game

Thanks,

Re: Desync ... but weird

Sounds like there is a migration triggered by changing mods that is causing this.

Is there anyway to upload what I have and have someone help me check, or explain to me what I can try to do and I'll work to see if I can figure it out?

A dev would have to look into this and that might take a while. If you can continue playing with the old mod loadout I'd suggest doing that instead of waiting for a fix.
