currently not playing with 3rd party mods. all i was doing was clearing some biter nests with artillery, then wanted to watch them burn, and saw the glitch. so i took a printscreen and am reporting this bug.
i restarted factorio with the attached save, and was unable to reproduce the bug, so my guess is there was a one off resource loading error in either the fire burn sprite or the smoke sprite.
thought i'd post even though i cant reproduce the bug in case its something you guys want to look into...
