Snapper in space

Post by Dejsving »

It's probably not a mistake, but it seems to me that it's at least not logical, this is space, there's nothing to breathe. Can you correct such curiosities?
For the sake of experiment, I left the snapper eggs on the platform to spoil.

I will also try to bring them to Aquilo, where even the furnaces freeze from the cold.

Humans eat ~2 kilograms of food a day. We burn about 0.8 kg of oxygen. It wouldn't be too crazy to imagine an alien biology that consumes the vast majority of its oxidizer in solid or liquid form alongside its fuel.

It's not difficult to imagine it in the form of fantasy.
But many biologists will argue with you, there are a lot of rules and laws of compounds in chemistry and biology that will not allow such a thing to appear.
But in general, it seems to me that within the framework of optimization it is wiser not to let them appear there, just death immediately. So that the game does not count unnecessary creatures.

It’s relevant to gameplay though. Transporting biter eggs through space (for overgrowth soil and promethium science) comes with the risk of them hatching and destroying everything if you do it poorly. Space being safe for no reason would take away from that mechanic.

Besides, biters in space won’t exist for very long. They will either be killed by turrets, or they will destroy the platform and disappear together with it. Either way, no real impact on performance compared to anything else.

Nauvis enemies breathe Pollution; not atmosphere. This is why the Spawners create more critters when exposed to the Factory.

This is a joke
