[2.0.72] Persistent failure to reach Factorio auth servers

Beginning ~6 months ago, Factorio, both on steam and standalone, has been unable to reach factorio auth servers to access the mod portal or public or LAN multiplayer servers. After logging out of my Factorio account within the game, trying to log in stalls the application for a few minutes and then throws the same error:

Whereas before encountering this issue for the first time, my game would load the mod portal, multiplayer servers, and log in/out successfully every time within seconds. I have consistently encountered this issue every time my game tries to access Factorio auth servers, no matter where I am, how I am connected to the internet, whether or not I am on the Steam version of Factorio, whether or not my firewall is active, or whether or not I have a VPN active. This issue happens both on my Windows laptop and my MacBook.

I have no difficulty connecting to servers directly via IP. I have used factorio.zone servers without issue.
