This would also be very helpful for looking at space platform designs and how survivable they are.

Keeping track of fully detailed information of what was destroyed when and where might be a bit too cumbersome to store efficiently.
But a simple heat map of where things are most frequently destroyed could be useful. You'd only need to store the "where" part of the map, set it to 1 when something is destroyed and decay or diffuse the values over time which should be doable fairly efficiently with just graphic shaders.
Maybe also give a way to clear the map of old data in case someone wants to rebuild their space platforms or just wants a fresh, untainted analysis of their new defenses.

Also, in the production statistics pane, the kills tab shows buildings 'killed' by enemies. It doesn't help with location, but it does provide a little more information for analysis and planning.
