Optimising a factory with “random bonuses”
Hi, while playing Factorio, I got the idea to make a factory that distributes resources or items semi-randomly, kinda like bonus spins in some games. I’m trying to figure out the best way to handle randomness with belts and machines so it’s balanced but not totally predictable, a bit like how I use Winbeatz for poker online to calculate my odds and variance when I play. If anyone has tried making systems that drop bonus or rare items automatically, would be great to hear how you did it.

Are you using the selector combinator? One of its modes is to take a random signal from its incoming signals. You can set how often you want it to switch signals.
