Mods oranizer. Presets, Groups, Favorite and Default

Post by Erfar »

TL;DR
Mod Management tab need some QoL improvements for those who have 20+ mods
What?

Essentially 4 small features for better navigation between mods inspired by other games:
1. Favorite Mods
Add the ability to "star" or bookmark specific mods. This would visually highlight essential tools or frequently toggled mods, making them instantly recognizable in a long list and allowing for faster enabling/disabling.

2. Mod Grouping (Folders)
Allow users to group multiple mods into a single collapsible folder. This would allow for "batch" toggling—perfect for modpacks with numerous sub-mods that clutter the UI, especially when they don't follow a strict naming convention (unlike the AAI suite). As addition it could also be same filter list similar to Explore tab.

3. "Default" Button
A "Return to Default" shortcut that instantly disables all third-party content while ensuring official expansion modules (e.g., Space Age, Quality, Elevated Rails) remain enabled. This provides a clean slate without manual hunting.

4. Mod Presets (Loadouts)
Implement a preset system to save specific configurations of enabled/disabled mods. Unlike folders—which are for organization—presets act as "save states" for different playthroughs. This allows a player to swap between Krastorio 2, Seablock, or a custom overhaul instantly, without having to remember the exact mod list.

Why?
While discoverability of mods with new Explore tab was quite improved, as soon as you start to look for mods "manage" tab became quite a mess without any tools to organize it.

I'd like to see the same filters on the explore tab, be on the manage tab as well. I've grown my mods to 100+ at this point, and I currently find myself wanting to enable only small tweaks to my new playthrough (Of previously installed mods that I ran in the past), but can't do it easily. I have to scan through all 100+ mods individually.
