2 * 1/7/5 vs 1/14/10

I ask, because I'm currently playing in a very space-constrained ribbon-world .

Is the standard 1/14/10 boiler set-up somehow more efficient than two 1/7/5, beyond needing one pump instead of two?

No, but you can just split the steam engines into two or more rows with a few pipe segments after the boilers.

Yup, that's what I was doing initially, but then I realized it was much easier just to line up unbent 1/7/5 next to each other . Thanks!
