[Done] Concept Help - Unit Launcher

Hi,

I've created a unit launching unit in my mod NE Enemies.
Every now and then, I get a problem, where the unit attacks a rock or wall and as a result spawns a LOT of units...

I was wondering if anyone has a good solution to this.
The one I came up with is to check for units around the trigger event and if there are to many, don't spawn any new units. (here)

Any other thoughts?

You could do the broodlord solution, where the created units die after a relatively short amount of time.

This would be easy in Factorio, just set health regen to something negative.
