[0.11.6]Freeze on collision of car with gate.

I was driving my car through a gate a a reasonable speed, and at the sound of the gate opening, I get the feeling that he opens to late. When I the the gate, the game freezes. My laptop also slows down like when he is preforming a difficult task. After a couple of minutes I get the message: "Notice: Bad allocation". With some struggle I shut factorio down, but then it still takes a couple of minutes before my computer resumes to normal. My laptop is 4.5 years old running windows 7, cpu: intel i3, 4GB RAM.
