new 'recycler' furnace wont accept via inserter

So I've added a recycler that smelts items back down into their components. It all works as intended when manually placing into the recycler, but if you try to use an inserter it doesn't work. Any obvious reason im missing here?

Also shift clicking doesn't work as well.

The recycler is a electric furnace entity, and the recipes it uses are new smelting recipes. Can give more info if needed. Like I said above it all works as intented except you have to manually place the items in that you want to recycle.
