Re: Fast Promethium ship at 760km/s and 27k spm
Yeah that is correct. I added some laser turrets to purely focus on biters when that happens. I've also made it so it dumps promethium on vulcanus and another ship ferries it back to Nauvis so that the Promethium ship can focus purely on grabbing eggs without the complication of it potentially ...

You are precisely correct! Yes it has to be a legendary Space Platform Hub. Thank you! It now works!

Re: Fast Promethium ship at 760km/s and 27k spm
Hmmm the second it leaves Nauvis the inserters arms are still disabled by control behaviour even with 4000 eggs in storage. Would you be able to look at the blueprint to confirm this is happening to you?

Re: Fast Promethium ship at 760km/s and 27k spm
This is a very cool design! I just can't work out how to get this started with the eggs? how many eggs is it suppose to request for the inserter arms to active? The decider combinators reference 80 and also 320 but I have requested 500 to test and they still don't activate?

I'm very dumb and I have already saved over the game after deleting the shippioruns wrote: Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:19 am Please share your save with this particular ship causing UPS drops, it may be useful for developers if they decide to look into this case.

Re: UPS Platform Consumption
You could test for hyphotetical performance or resource leak. Save game, delete all space platforms one by one, watch resource use drop, verify it is zero (or otherwise as expected) when all platforms are gone. Then, you can restore your save.
Yep! That is actually what I spent all day ...

UPS Platform Consumption
Hello,
Is there a tool or a mod or something to indicate which space platform is consuming the most UPS?
I know there is the Show-Time-Usage option when you press F4 but it only gives a broad overview of everything. As of this moment my saved game is running at an incredibly slow 22 FPS/UPS. I ...

Re: Corrupt map: Unknown item prototype ID 20384 (saved game uploaded) (Will pay $50AUD for a fix for this)
Hey just an update to this.
My motherboard is a X670E Steel Legend and I'm using 64gb of Ram. There was a period where Factorio was using almost 40gb+ and I'd get the occasional crash every few hours. My ram sticks were actually in their slots perfectly fine (or so I thought) and had clicked in ...

Re: Solved already, but Factorio successfully identified that I had failing hardware (Linux)
I've also experienced this in the past. Actually today is when I found out what actually was the culprit. This would happen extremely rare to me. The problem was my ram sticks not fully inserted. I must have nudged it after installing the cpu power cable or something because I remember hearing all ...

Re: Corrupt map: Unknown item prototype ID 20384 (saved game uploaded) (Will pay $50AUD for a fix for this)
I ran memtest86+ all night again (ran it after the initial corruption to verify) and it revealed nothing wrong on any passes again. The CPU I just stressed tested it and monitored temperatures for an hour, do you have any recommendations for a good CPU diagnostic tool for linux? because I know a ...

Re: Corrupt map: Unknown item prototype ID 20384 (saved game uploaded) (Will pay $50AUD for a fix for this)
Thank you again for looking into this. Judging from what you said here regarding platforms is it possible to delete entirely the suspect platform? or every platform if that is easier?

Re: Corrupt map: Unknown item prototype ID 20384 (saved game uploaded)
I looked at this save file but i am unable to identify where is it corrupted.
Just curious what in the save file are you looking at? is it the level.dat files through a hex editor?
Also not sure if this helps but I installed the visible planets mod at around the same time the saves became ...

Wow boskid I am very impressed you were able to fix this! I've got a very similar problem that I have described in another thread! I just uploaded the saved game. Maybe not all hope is lost!

Corrupt map: Unknown item prototype ID 20384 (saved game uploaded) (Will pay $50AUD for a fix for this)
Hello everyone.
I was playing my 486 hour long map, midway through designing a new ship when suddenly it just crashes to the menu with the error in the title. The full message was "Corrupt map: Unknown item prototype ID 20384. File has likely been corrupted due to failing hardware". I thoroughly ...
