Huge +1!!!

How about making the recipe selection behave as it always used to, with a dropdown in the assembler GUI, after choosing the recipe, to select quality level. That way it can be used on the odd occasion as its required and otherwise ignored.

Yeah, separating the quality from the recipe seems like a better option. 8-)

I've created an account just for this.
I had to roll back my save so that I don't have quality researched.
Please give us an option to pick whether to use confirmation or not.
We might just as well select quality before selecting the recipe - no confirmation needed.

This will at least allow me to continue by save and then hopefully reenable quality much later when this GUI issue is fixed.
Or you could just run the command

Code: Select all

/c for _, q in pairs({"uncommon", "rare", "epic", "legendary"}) do game.player.force.lock_quality(q) end
Which disables the "qualities", but keeps the technologies you've already researched and the quality modules.
So you can just run the same command (but with "unlock_quality" instead of "lock_quality") when you do want to play with quality
(it seems that quality is practically useless until you get the recycler, see viewtopic.php?f=6&t=116817,
even putting quality modules on science packs is useless as you get a higher average science per minute with production or speed modules).

It really isn't, you just probably going to only use it on some end products.

I was setting some map pins last night, just using the tick/check symbol, and *every* *time* I had an extra click because of quality - and ticks don't even have quality!

I'm finding the current pin method very click-y (create pin, select icon, confirm quality, add description, confirm, place). Does anyone have any suggestions for me to streamline the process? Now that pins can be moved after placement, I feel like the "old" method could come back and would be more efficient.

I hate this quality double click , e click thing. Just let me single click... I so regret researching quality and I don't want to disable achievements to turn it off. Fix it now please.

+1 PLEASE FIX THIS. (all caps on purpose)

I created an account to add my +1 for the devs. This is a super annoying QOL for a feature most players don't use. Many have suggested easy work arounds - just leave it at the quality selected before, like every UI ever.

There are many solutions to the achievement issue if you look online.

It's a bit clunky, especially when you first research and you really jusy want normal items.

Is this extra click is not fixed yet, even with any mod?
I still wait with quality research to avoid interface troubles.

It's really not that much trouble to be worth pausing your progress indefinitely. It confused me for a few minutes when I first unlocked quality, and annoyed me for maybe an hour, then I stopped thinking about it.

There literally is no reason to force players to do extra actions when selecting a recipe.
I've seen so many posts not just here people having trouble with this and not even wanting to try quality because of that.
It's not a good feeling that with a "feature" people avoiding that because of such intrusive UI change. Please fix it - really just a simplest solution not much work:
1. Clicking(single click) a recipe works as before which selects the recipe at default normal quality(most common use) (select a machine, click the recipe - no additional confirm required)
2. If user wanted to change quality it can be done before 1st step (select a machine, select quality, click the recipe - no additional confirm required)
